Yes, yes, yes! Has Christmas come early? It's so good to see another volume from Brighton's talented Stick Up Boys arrive from good old Producer Loops after what seems ages.

PL say: 'Stick Up Boys: Electronic Pop Vocals Vol 3' marks the much-anticipated return of Producer Loops' experimental foray into 1980s style Pop. This off-the-wall series includes full vocal performances, with toplines, background vocals and chants, all underpinned by analogue focused instrumental Construction Kits.'

Hahahaha - 'off-the-wall', That's what makes the lads so damn good and different and it's always a pleasure to use the sounds BUT BUT BUT the vox are always the icing on the cake underpinned of course by top-class musicianship and production.

In Volume 3 you get five kits:

  • Gmaj at 88bpm
  • Gmin at 100bpm
  • A at 84bpm
  • Amin at 120bpm
  • A#maj at 120bpm

As you can see by the beats per minute, you can easily create a track in many a genre from hip-hop and tropical right up to pop and house - the choice is yours. And, as always with Producer Loops output, everything syncs to whatever bpm you use plus you never lose any audio quality when timestretching up or down. Daft eh?

I still find it amazing, we being almost halfway through 2018, that there are still shedloads of loops' producers 'out there' who just can't be bothered to use key and tempo labelling and there are even those who proudly boast 'tempos included' but they have no key labelling.

I think syncing is a 'must too' because who wants to faff around cutting and pasting loops to make themn fit a track? Not me pal! Thart's why this collection is another of those 'dip in, enjoy, create' packs that's a doddle to use.

Anyway, back to the collection and each kit delivers sub-folders which give you bass, vox, drums, guitars and synths and give you great melodies.

The vox? Shedloads. It's always great to have 'proper vocals' rather than the shedloads of 'chops' proliferating in today's market so you get leads, intros/outros, choruses etc PLUS you get lots of variations too such as 'leadvox pre and chrous', 'backing vox outro chopped wet'...... far too many to talk about here. You'll be like the proverbial kid in a sweetshop when you hear them - and they contain some great humorous touches too.

Hahahaha - 'The Stick Up Boys' off-kilter approach to Electronic Pop music is orchestrated by a trio going by the names of "Front", "Brains" and "The Driver" in Brighton, UK. They were originally formed after Front decided the world owed him something and that it was time to take it.'

Great stuff. Another 10/10 and 'one of the best releases of 2018 so far'.

And for those of you who haven't heard of the boys before then simples, visit them on their YouTube site and watch their ace vids plus you can always check them out on Soundcloud. And when visiting the Producer Loops site, check out their earlier sound collections too.

One of their very best:
