CRAFT YOUR OWN HOMAGE TO BLADE RUNNER

Cinematic Series Vol 5: Neo Noir 2039 - PC/Mac - ACIDised WAV/Apple Loops/Ableton Live Pack 8.1.3/ MIDI - Royalty-free - £49.95/58,28 EUR d/load

Now this is a gem and no mistake.

This collection really grabs your attention simply because it's nice, different and genuinely 'out there'.

PL explains it much  better than I can:  'Cinematic Series Vol 5: Neo Noir 2039 pays homage to the awe-inspiring soundtrack works of Vangelis, Hans Zimmer & Benjamin Wallfisch on the iconic Blade Runner movies. Featuring a professional voice-over, seven mini Construction Kits and a selection of inviting SFX, this is an exemplary collection of aural delights geared towards soundtrack composers and experimental producers alike.'

The Producer: Lhasa Mencur is a composer and sound designer for interactive/visual media, with a particular passion for games and virtual environment and says: 'Going into the creation of this library, I wanted to try my best to pay homage to the original Blade Runner film, with its iconic synth-laden soundtrack that redefined the relationship of soundtrack and visuals in cinema - while at the same time taking a step into current day modalities. I was also conscious of the release of the latest sequel and its far more modern approach to the aural palette. I didn't want to try and emulate either film but rather focused on capturing the timeless melancholia of the universe and genre Blade Runner first defined.'

There you have it and yes, it's ideal for those of you who enjoy creating soundtracks, soundscapes and even music for games.

The kits you get are five in D at 73, 75, 80, 90 and 118bpm; one in E at 95bpm and one in G at 125bpm, each containing all you need - and the sounds have great names too such as (to name but a few) Night Drops, Nocturnal Movement, Lifeline and Inquisitor.

Arps, synths, pulses, stabs etc BUT not only that you actually get a folder containing a 'professional voice-over' in which there are four parts: Her Eyes, Lost Sight, Right Between My Eyes and Solace. Good stuff indeed and, as I've said, completely 'our there' and fires up your imagination to add, say, orchestral sounds to what's in here to make some really great cinematic tracks.

The icing on the cake for me though is the swathe of SFX which gives you loads of atmospheres such as cars driving past and my fave...Neon Rain.
